AFTER PINOCHET

...the healing of a country's wounded heart

"After Pinochet" - tells the story of Chilean victims of torture and exile, when dictatorship replaced democracy.  With today's use of detention without trial and "rendition", is there a message for the likes of Bush & Blair?  Despite his human rights record, Pinochet escaped justice.  How can Chile heal?

Annabel Aguirre - film maker and director of After Pinochet

I was brought up to believe in a civilised Chile. After the coup of ’73, I realised the world now saw it as a barbaric country full of torturers.
With the election of Michelle Bachelet, I dare to hope the Pinochet years were a terrible aberration that can never re-occur.
After Pinochet explores the unfinished healing process in a divided society, where the tortured live alongside those who benefitted from the Pinochet regime.
